Local SEO · Yate · BS37
Yate is its own town, and its customers search that way: “plumber Yate”, “roofer Chipping Sodbury”, not “Bristol”. Firms that describe themselves as Bristol businesses often don’t show up here at all. Our search engine optimisation works on your Google profile, reviews, listings and pages so you appear for Yate, Chipping Sodbury and the villages you actually cover. It’s the same local SEO for trades we do across the region.

About 13 miles north of Keynsham by road, round the Bristol ring road.
Searching in Yate
Yate grew quickly as a planned town from the 1960s, so much of its housing is estates of a similar age: semis, terraces and bungalows that are now due new kitchens, bathrooms, boilers, roofs and windows. Chipping Sodbury next door is older, with a historic high street and stone houses, and the new homes of North Yate bring a third kind of customer. Most searches are practical, local and made on a phone.
The Map Pack in Yate is a mix of local firms and others from Bristol’s northern edge, Bradley Stoke and Thornbury. National directories take many of the plain results. Because the town is smaller than Bristol, the competition is thinner: a Yate trade with a complete profile, regular reviews and a site that clearly says Yate can win searches that bigger firms only reach from a distance.
Google treats Yate, Chipping Sodbury and the surrounding villages as separate places, all in South Gloucestershire. A profile or website that only says “Bristol” rarely appears for a Yate search, and one that lists every village in a block convinces nobody. We choose the places you want work from, then back each one with reviews, photos and, where it pays, a page written from real jobs there.
Our plan for you
We start with a free look at where you stand in Yate today. For most local trades, the first three months then run like this.
Yate, plus the places you want work from: Chipping Sodbury, North Yate, Iron Acton or Westerleigh. Each is searched by name, so we decide which to go after first.
The primary category local competitors win with, every service in customers’ words, real hours and a service area matching where you go. Home-based trades are set up as service-area businesses, as Google requires.
We give you a short review link and a simple message to send once a job is done, asking customers to say what you did and where. A few detailed, recent reviews from Yate streets count for more than a long list of old ones.
Photos of jobs in Yate and Chipping Sodbury, short posts about recent work, and on Growth and Pro a page for each place written from real jobs there.
A dated grid scan in month 1 and month 3 covering the town and the villages you chose, so you can see exactly where you’ve gained ground.
Proof
We don’t have a Yate client’s result to show yet, and we won’t borrow one. These are the nearest: every card names its town, and a result appears only where it’s been measured, with its date and source.
Example layout · not client data
A 7×7 grid of points across Yate. Each number is where you appear in the Map Pack when someone searches from that spot. Green is the top 3. Every plan gets a dated scan in month 1 and month 3.

“I honestly couldn't be happier with the work that's been done on my website and SEO. From the very beginning, the team was professional, responsive, and really took the time to understand exactly what I wanted. My website looks fantastic, was built exactly to my specification, and they also came up with some great ideas and guidance that made it even better than I had imagined.”
★★★★★
“I worked with Rich at SEO Kings for copywriting and SEO. He made the whole process easy. Rich asked good questions at the start and understood exactly what I wanted. He wrote clear copy that sounds like my brand. On the SEO side, he picked the right keywords and improved my pages so they should rank better. He replied quickly and made changes without any fuss.”
Area by area
Yate and the places around it each have their own housing and their own competitors. Here’s what we find in each. Pick a place on the map to jump to it.
BS37
The shopping centre, Station Road and the streets around them hold most of Yate’s shops, cafés, salons and services. For those businesses the Google profile is often the main way new customers arrive, so accurate hours, real photos and replies to reviews matter more than the website. Trades based in the centre have proximity on their side for any search made in town, which makes a complete profile the cheapest win there is.
BS37
The old market town next door, with stone houses, a wide high street and a strong local identity. Residents search by its name, not Yate’s, and older properties bring roofing, damp, stonework and period joinery. Independent shops, pubs and restaurants on Broad Street depend on their profiles. A trade wanting work here needs Chipping Sodbury named in its service area and a few reviews from customers in the town.
BS37
Brimsham Park and the newer neighbourhoods being built on the town’s northern edge bring families who are new to the area and have no trusted local names yet. They rely on reviews and search more than most, and the work is improvement rather than repair: garden landscaping, driveways, kitchens beyond the builder’s spec, home offices and EV chargers. Being early with reviews from these streets is a real advantage.
BS37
Estates from Yate’s main years of growth, west and south of the centre, with family homes that are now forty or more years old. That means steady demand for bathrooms, kitchens, boilers, rewires, roofs and windows. Customers compare a few firms on reviews, price and how quickly you reply. A profile that lists each of those services separately and shows jobs on similar houses tends to win.
BS37
Later estates on the south-eastern side of town, between Yate and Chipping Sodbury, with plenty of owner-occupied family homes. Extensions, loft conversions, conservatories and garden work are common searches here. Because these streets sit between the two towns, the Map Pack can show firms from either, so a trade covering both should name both and gather reviews from each.
BS37
The villages to the west of Yate, with older cottages, farm buildings and larger homes. There are few businesses of their own, so residents searching for a trade see firms from Yate, Frampton Cotterell and Bristol’s northern edge. Even two or three reviews mentioning a village, and photos of a local job, help a profile stand out where so few competitors bother.

Before you hire
There are plenty of SEO firms happy to take a Yate client on. A few questions sort the useful ones from the rest.
A named client, a dated figure and where it came from. We haven’t worked for a Yate firm yet, so our cards say which town each result is from.
Small firms are often sold by one person and worked on by another. With us, the person on the phone writes the pages and runs the profile.
You should own the Google Business Profile outright and simply remove the agency as a manager. Pages and listings stay with you too.
Ask for a grid scan of the streets you care about, with the same points each time, and the calls and direction requests your profile brought in.
Under the map, the plain results for Yate searches are crowded with directories, comparison sites and firms from across north Bristol. A fast site with one page per service, plus a page for Chipping Sodbury or the villages where you have the jobs to show, wins a share of those clicks back. The technical side is covered in our organic SEO work.
When someone asks an AI assistant who to call in Yate, the answer is drawn from sources Google already trusts: a complete, active profile, reviews naming the job and the town, and clear service pages. We can’t promise a mention, and we don’t sell it separately, but those are the things that make one likelier.

FAQs
Our plans are Essentials £200 a month, Growth £300 a month, Pro £400 a month, with no set-up fee, and no VAT to add. A trade covering Yate and Chipping Sodbury usually starts on Essentials or Growth; adding Bristol’s northern edge or Thornbury usually needs Pro.
No. We’re a family-run firm in Keynsham, about 13 miles south by road. We cover Yate the same way we cover Bath and Bristol, and we’re happy to come and see you or your work.
Yes. Each place is searched on its own name and has its own competitors. We add the ones you want to your service area, build reviews and photos from jobs there, and on Growth and Pro write a page for each from real local work.
Often, yes. Google treats Yate as a separate town, so a profile and website that only mention Bristol are rarely shown for Yate searches. Naming Yate properly, with reviews and jobs to back it up, usually makes a visible difference.
Yate is less crowded than Bristol, so a profile that has been left half-finished often improves within a few weeks of being fixed. Holding a steady place in the Map Pack across the town and Chipping Sodbury takes longer, usually a few months. We measure from a grid scan in the first month and compare it with one in the third.
No. Local SEO runs month to month with no contract, and 30 days’ notice stops it. Your Google profile, listings and pages stay yours if you leave.
